Cheers To A Delightful Halloween

Posted

(NAPSI)—If you’re like two out of every three Americans, according to National Retail Federation statistics, you’re ready to find some fun this Halloween.

One way may be to invite friends over to watch scary movies, tell ghost stories or admire each others’ costumes (more than half of American adults tend to dress up for Halloween) and serve a delicious, scary-looking drink designed for grown-up Halloween celebrants.

Spooky Sangria

Serves 6-8

3 bottles Seagram’s Escapes Strawberry Daiquiri

1750-ml bottle red wine

1 cup pomegranate juice

1 orange, sliced

1/2 cup blackberries

1/2 cup strawberries, sliced

1 apple

Red gel icing (optional)

Prepare the sangria by adding Seagram’s Escapes Strawberry Daiquiri, red wine, pomegranate juice and ice to a punch bowl and stir. Add orange slices, berries and apple ghosts (see below) to the punch bowl.

If desired, use red gel icing to create a rim around the wine glasses. Serve over ice.

It’s also no trick to create this attractive treat:

Apple Ghosts

Cut an apple into round slices. Use a paring knife to cut each slice into a ghost shape. Press a straw into the slices to create eyes and a mouth on each ghost.

Set the Stage

Decorate with lots of spider webs, skeletons, witches and jack-o’-lanterns. For a great way to let guests know what they’re getting into, set up a fog machine outside. Inside, light black candles and enlist your house plants by putting eyes on their leaves.

Get Into The Spooky Mood With Music

While your guests are sipping and snacking, put on a playlist of spooky songs, whether your crowd is into “Thriller” or “Monster Mash,” “Time Warp” or “Ghostbusters,” “This Is Halloween” or “Witchcraft.”

What To Do

Guests may well go batty for party games and other fun things to do including:

•A murder mystery game or Ouija board

•A Name the Monster version of charades

•A scavenger hunt

•Bobbing for apples

•Pumpkin carving contest.

Give guests their own trick-or-treat bags that include candy, a mask and a bottle of Seagram’s Escapes.

Take lots of photos and share with friends on social media.
