Family Yard Fall To-Dos

Posted

(NAPSI)—Fall’s a paw-some time to enjoy your family yard—and prep it for a lush spring, say the experts at The TurfMutt Foundation, which advocates for outdoor living and the care and stewardship of yards, parks, schoolyards and other green spaces, for the benefit of all.

Here’s how to keep your lawn TurfMutt-approved:

  • Mulch Those Leaves: Skip the rake; shred leaves to feed your grass and help the planet.
  • Aerate the Lawn: Loosen soil to let water, air, and nutrients reach grass roots.
  • Mow Smart: Keep mowing ‘til frost. Check advice on mowing height for your grass type, but you want to aim usually for 2–3 inches.
  • Water Wisely: If rain’s scarce, keep watering. Use smart irrigation to save H2O.
