New Treatment For Respiratory Sufferers (NAPSA)—New technology may help Americans who suffer from asthma, allergies or other respiratory diseases better treat their symptoms. Millions of Americans are affected, with children being especially prone. Asthmaaloneis estimated to affect five to 12 percent of all kids. Typically, people with respiratory conditions rely on prescription medication, continuous home cleaning , or conventional air purifiers. Now, an air shower system developed in Sweden has been proven in case studies to significantly reduce reliance on prescription drugs. The system is designed to deliver “pure” (or cleaned) air directly to a person’s breathing zone. A new type of patented air purification system assures clean air in a person’s “breathing zone.” A more recent study was conducted in Sweden. An 11-year-old boy diagnosed with asthma since age 5 relied on heavy doses of medication to relieve his allergy symptoms—such high doses his growth had become stunted. An air shower was installed over his desk at school and over his bed at home. His allergy symptoms eventually improved and his asthma medication wassignificantly reduced. The new technology removes at least 99.95% of airborne particles greater than 0.3 microns. It also minimizes the risk of cross contamination of allergens, viruses and bacteria and helps reduce the risk of airborne infection. A unique neck rotates 360 to allow for comfortable adjustment.
