Parents frequently volunteer to lp improve tir communities. Groups such as Parents Without Partners (PWP) conduct a variety of community outreach services geared toward making tir home towns better places. Activities range from simple fund raising or babysitting, to running clothing or toy exchanges, to arranging educational and entertaining lectures. T PWP chapters, which range in size from 25 to 1,500 members, are run entirely by volunteers and all operate under t slogan of “Parents Without Partners, wre new friendships begin.” T organization was created in 1957 to lp provide single parents and tir children with t opportunity to enhance tir per- sonal growth, self confidence and sensitivity towards otrs in an environment that fosters support, friendship and t exchange of parenting techniques.
