(NAPS)—Every February, peo- ple across the country join together and sing the praises of an entire culture’s collective past and music style as they celebrate Black History Month. \ A radio program hosted by an R&Bstarwill feature music by past and present African American Singers. The occasion is meant to honor the important societal contributions made to our nation by African-Americans. One waythis year’s Black His- tory Month will be commemorated is through music. Throughout February, Heineken USAwill pay musi- cal tribute to noteworthy African- Americans who have been instrumental in the nation’s growth,culture and consciousness. During Black History Month, Heineken will present Music That Makes History, a two hour syndicated radio program hosted by R&B artist Kandi that will air on top stations across the country. The program will feature music by past and present influential African- American artists and interviews with African-American celebrities including Marvin Gaye, Whitney Houston and Boys IT Men. In addition, Heinekenis offering CDs to consumers, featuring songs by prominent African-Amer- ican performers, such as Sugarhill Gang, Grandmaster Flash & The Furious Five, and Melle Mel & Duke Bootee. Music fans everywhere are expected to listen to the program and enjoy the sounds of some musical pioneers who had to come a long way to sing what was on their minds.
